What is ABA therapy?
ABA is a science of learning and behavior. In therapy, a qualified team uses assessment, observation, teaching strategies, and ongoing data to help a person build meaningful skills.
Request ServicesIndividualized, not one-size-fits-all
A responsible plan begins with the child’s strengths, needs, preferences, routines, and family priorities. Goals may involve communication, daily living, learning readiness, participation, play, independence, or safety.
How the team works
A BCBA may assess, design the plan, review progress, and supervise. An RBT or behavior therapist may provide direct support under supervision. Caregivers contribute priorities and may receive coaching for everyday routines.
Questions families can ask
Ask how goals were selected, how assent and dignity are respected, what data mean, who supervises sessions, how progress is shared, and what happens when a strategy is not helpful.
- What skill will this goal improve?
- How will we know it is helping?
- How can our family participate?
- How will the plan change over time?
