Our purpose

Families should be able to ask questions, understand the next step, and participate meaningfully in care. The Abacus Team’s approach emphasizes plain language, practical goals, clinical oversight, and respect for each family’s priorities.

English and Spanish-speaking support is part of that commitment.

It is highly visible without limiting who is welcome: the team aims to support all eligible families it can appropriately serve.

Meet the Founder

Nevenka is a BCBA, LBA who has worked with a vast population of children and adolescents since entering the field of Applied Behavior Analysis in the spring of 2020. Her career began as an educator, where she took on many roles as an inclusion teacher, school counselor, and executive director. She holds a Bachelors in Elementary Education, Masters in Psychology, and Educational Specialist in Educational Leadership.

While working in a school setting, she truly enjoyed working with families and children with autism and other disabilities. She began working as a behavior therapist where she gained extensive experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, ODD, and other developmental and mental health diagnoses.

Nevenka earned her ABA certification at University of California Santa Barbara to later become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Since then, she has worked at schools, at home, and in a clinical setting. Nevenka enjoys hosting in-person and virtual parent trainings focusing on behavior interventions and strategies. Nevenka combines her expertise as an educator along with ABA practices to work and provide the best treatment for her clients to succeed.

Our Philosophy

Working together to enhance lives through personalized, empathetic, and dynamic care.

At The Abacus Team, we understand that learning your child has developmental disabilities can be overwhelming. It's natural to have concerns about their future and independence. We empathize with you, which is why our approach is rooted in compassion, teamwork, and a dedication to expert care. We believe that supporting a child with disabilities requires a collaborative effort. By working closely with your family, we develop a care plan tailored specifically to your child's needs.

We utilize Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), an evidence-based method, to foster meaningful change and help your child acquire essential everyday skills.

Our team is also here to empower you. We encourage your active participation in your child's development. By building trust and maintaining open communication, we create an environment where children can truly thrive and reach their full potential. At The Abacus Team, we are dedicated to integrating equity, inclusion, and diversity into all aspects of our work.

We recognize that each family has its own unique story and challenges, and we are always prepared to adapt our services to meet your specific needs.
