Parent and caregiver training, explained
Caregiver training is a collaborative part of many ABA plans. It gives families understandable strategies, practice, and feedback for goals that matter outside formal sessions.
Request ServicesWhat it can look like
A clinician may explain why a strategy is recommended, model it, invite the caregiver to practice, and adjust it to the family’s language, routines, and capacity.
A realistic partnership
Parents are not expected to become therapists. The plan should respect time, stress, family culture, and competing responsibilities. Small, useful steps are often more sustainable than complicated homework.
Choose meaningful priorities
Examples may include smoother transitions, functional communication, daily living routines, play, community participation, or supporting a skill across family members.
